In March 2003 Jonas & Kate Werner left jobs in the corporate world of law and financial services and realized their dream to open a family restaurant together, Azure Cafe.
In the 14 years since opening, Jonas & Kate, their children Riley & Ella and staff have built Azure into a destination restaurant and neighborhood partner. Jonas & Kate have been committed to giving back to the surrounding community where they live and work: Azure donates thousands of dollars in profits to local charities each year.
In November 2003, they founded the Annual Freeport Community Thanksgiving Dinner, an event which serves free dinner to the public at the Freeport Community Center each Thanksgiving Day.
